Our Study Programme courses are delivered at Level 1 and Level 2, full time at the College.
These courses provide an excellent starting point for those with little or no prior experience of the Motor Industry, but who wish to progress to an apprenticeship.
Many of our current apprentices successfully achieved these level 1 or level 2 qualifications before starting their Apprenticeship.  This enabled them to get ahead in the very competitive search for  employers.

Both of these full time programmes aim to improve the skills of learners by helping them gain credit-based  qualifications at either Level 1 or Level 2  which can then lead them to appropriate  destinations such as an Apprenticeship.

You will need to show a good mechanical aptitude and a logical approach to problem solving along with good  communication skills. The areas you will work on during the study programme are:

  • Light Vehicle Construction

  • Engine Systems, Components and Operation

  • Vehicle Braking Systems

  • Vehicle Maintenance Processes and Procedures

  • Vehicle Exhaust Systems

  • Vehicle Electrical Foundation Skills

Level 1 Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenace

Level 2 Certificate Vehicle Component Fitting
