Motor Vehicle Maintenance Tutor
Starting ASAP

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Light Vehicle Maintenance Tutor to join our small teaching team.  You will be required to be qualified in light vehicle maintenance and repair to Level 3 or above.

Ideally you will also have experience in delivering light vehicle, motor vehicle maintenance and repair training and have a relevant teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one).

The role will involve you delivering training to young people starting their career in the motor industry who are undertaking full-time course and / or Apprenticeship Standards.

Depending on qualifications and experience you will also have the opportunity to deliver professional short courses and qualifications to technicians already working in the industry.   

Your role as Motor Vehicle Maintenance Tutor will be to teach in group settings, managing individual learner expectations, managing learner’s journey on their course programme, carry out learner and employer reviews, schedule exams and assessments as and when necessary to meet the learners and College's needs. Liaise with the training manager and other tutors on a weekly basis to ensure learner progress is tracked and reported on effectively.

You may also be required to deliver other non-accredited training sessions as and when required, depending on experience.

If you would like to gain experience and knowledge in the following areas to start your career in the motor industry, this is the apprenticeship for you!

Responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrate expertise, not only on the technical aspects of motor vehicle technology but also in retail, parts and customer service

  • Hybrid / Electric vehicle system and safe working practices

  • Vehicle 4-wheel geometry principles

  • Vehicle systems including battery, charging and air conditioning

  • Tyre maintenance, legislation and technical information

  • Fundamentals of specialist vehicle systems

  • Use a range of tools, measuring and diagnostic equipment to identify and repair similar system faults

  • Experience how the business works and how you contribute to the overall results, demonstrating commercial awareness.

Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship 
 

We have a number of Level 3 Apprenticeship vacancies across Hull, Hessle, Newport and Goole at a variety of companies.   

Duties can vary slightly from, company to company but typically you would be expected to cover the following during your 3 year apprenticeship programme:

 

  • Carry out complex diagnostics on all makes and models of vehicles

  • Work on latest 4 wheel alignment equipment

  • Learn how to carry out services and inspections on vehicles to the highest standard

  • Remove and replace steering, suspension and braking components

  • Remove and replace engine components - learning all about all makes and models of engines!

Motor Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Apprenticeships and Full-Time Courses 
Starting September 2022

If you would like to start a career in the motor vehicle maintenance and repair industry our courses are the route for you.  We have vacancies on our level 2 and 3 apprenticeships and on our level 2 full-time course all starting in September.
