We have two apprenticeship vacancies to work for the Emergency Services Fleet Management team.
Providing essential servicing, maintenance and repairs to a variety of Police and Fire vehicles,
we are looking for apprentices that are highly motivated and want to learn new skills.
Day-to-day tasks will vary but include:
• Servicing – carrying out vehicle/tyre checks.
• MOT’s – assisting to identify parts with wear and tear.
• Vehicle Maintenance – replacing/repairing engine parts.
• Diagnostics – using the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Maintaining repair and service records. The techniques and daily responsibilities you will learn will include:
• Using diagnostic, mechanical and electrical measuring equipment to investigate vehicle faults and identify their
underlying causes.
• Inspecting and preparing fleet vehicles ready for mechanical work.
• Removing, repairing or replacing components to the correct specification.
• Contributing to a safe working environment, by working within Health and Safety processes.
• Admin duties that include updating job cards.

1 x Post - Carneby, East Yorkshire

There are three units based across the East Riding at Beverley, Bridlington and Goole, with each unit approved as a
MOT testing station for both council and non-council vehicles. Servicing and repairing up to 700 fleet and vehicles
every year, the unit has a strong tradition of recruiting apprentices and training them as Vehicle Technicians.
The Goole and Bridlington units are seeking 1 apprentice each to join the teams and the successful candidate will
work towards and complete the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship (light vehicle) on a 4 year fixed term contract.
Working on a shift-based rota, the apprentices will be working alongside qualified staff undertaking a range of duties including:

Undertaking repairs and maintenance for all the authorities’ vehicles to include light and heavy vehicles

Delivering systems which ensure vehicle and operator compliance

Ensuring administration for all work is completed and recorded in line with the expectations of the Traffic Commissioner

Working in one of 25 retail branches you will work towards a Level 2 Autocare Apprenticeship

Motor Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Apprenticeships and Full-Time Courses

English and Maths Tutor

This is an exciting time to join the Motor Trades GTA family!
We are looking for an enthusiastic English and Maths Tutor to deliver, Functional Skills
and GCSE's as part of Apprenticeship standards and full time training programmes.
We are looking for the right person to join our team and deliver the English and Maths
to our existing Apprentices and to our new Apprentices and full-time students starting
in September 2024.
You will be expected to deliver Functional Skills Level 1 and Level 2 in a classroom based and workshop based learning environment and GCSE English and Maths to full time students that gained below level 4 in their GCSE's.
Your role as English and Maths Tutor will be to manage individual learner expectations, deliver quality classroom based learning, schedule exams as and when necessary to meet the learners and College's needs, liaise with the training manager and tutors on a weekly basis to ensure learner progress is tracked and reported on effectively.
You may also be required to deliver other non-accredited training sessions as and when required, depending on experience.
Ideally you will have experience in delivering functional skills and GCSE training in English and Maths.
You will also need a Teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards) and GCSE’s or Key/Functional Skills level 3 or above in Maths and English.

Apprentice RAC Roadside Automotive Technician
Starting July 2026


In partnership with the RAC we have an exciting unique Apprenticeship Programme for aspiring Roadside Patrols and Mobile Mechanics across the North of England!
As the UK's leading breakdown service provider, the RAC is a people powered business with 4,000 'Orange Heroes'. Our Apprenticeship Programme is designed to equip you with the skills and experience needed to excel in the automotive industry, whether as one of our roadside breakdown patrols or as one of our mobile mechanics. As an Apprentices you will be required to attend the GTA based in Hull (HU4 7DY) for 4 days per week, every 5 weeks to complete your Level 2 Autocare Apprenticeship Training.
You will be mentored by an experienced roadside patrol person, working alongside them in their vehicle learning the skills and qualities required throughout your apprenticeship programme.

Qualifications & Requirements

Willingness to Learn: We seek individuals with a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment, ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities.

Hours of Work: Average 40 hours per week. You will work shifts - 7 days per week on a rota between 6.00 am to 12.00 midnight in the first year.

College: You will be required to attend the GTA based in Hull (HU4 7DY) for 4 days per week, every 5 weeks to complete your Level 2 Autocare Apprenticeship Training.
You will work towards a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship, providing a solid foundation for your career in the automotive industry.

Learner and Careers Administrator

Salary: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
We have an exciting full-time post available in our busy Business Department at Motor Trades GTA. The post is to work in the heart of the academy supporting the business in learner management and careers. Working in a small team you would be responsible for:
-
Undertaking reception duties 2 days per week, dealing with students on site and over the telephone, dealing with incoming customer enquiries about courses, costs, funding etc.
-
Monitor the progress of student applications, organise and run assessment sessions, careers events, open events to encourage as many applicants as possible.
-
Utilise the GTA’s social media platforms to promote Apprenticeships, full time courses and part time professional courses.
-
Develop and create professional marketing literature, e-newsletters, mailshots etc.
-
Support in the maintaining of learner information manually and electronically, recording new learners, achievements, withdrawals, ensuring funding rules and education audit requirements are met.
-
Attend relevant schools and other business careers events to promote the GTA.

·Support with the efficient running of the IT equipment across the business and in classrooms.
