| A Great Year For Motor Industry Apprentices | ||||||||||||||||||||
|
On Wednesday the 19th March 2008 the Group Training Association held its 30th Annual Awards Dinner at the KC Stadium. Helping us celebrate this special occasion, were six proud Apprentice finalists, their parents, employers and guests and members of the Association. To qualify for their award the GTA Training Manager, Malcolm Hairsine took into account the views from their assessors, company managers, supervisors and lecturers from their college. All finalists reaching this level can indeed be very proud of themselves as an Apprenticeship is far from an easy option today, they have all shown the dedication and commitment required

New Companies The GTA continues to grow and welcomes new companies offering employment to apprentices throughout 2008/2009. Regional Institute of the Motor Industry Awards 2006 During April 2007, two of the GTA apprentices, Francesca Brookes and Ryan Todd had their awards presented to them by Sarah Sillars, Chief Executive of the IMI, at Darleys in Hull. It just gets better! Apprentices who started in 2005 on the 14-16 year old Apprenticeship Pilot Scheme with East Riding Schools have now completed their training, and four lucky apprentices have been offered employment! Enthusiasm is growing and this year up to 30 more 14-16 year old apprentices are expected to start. This initiative is receiving excellent support and feedback from parents, schools and member companies. Nationally, the Group Training Association has one of the highest retention levels of those involved with the pilot scheme. Selection Testing - It's not too late! There is still time to apply for an apprenticeships for the 2007 intake, selection testing commences on the 29th May 2007 and will continue for 10 days. If you wish to be considered please contact Nicky or Eileen at the GTA, telephone 01482-353022
